Masters of Bourbon Appreciation
When people talk about the worldwide whiskey renaissance, the first word that comes to most minds is bourbon. While there are other styles of whiskey out there, Irish, Scottish, American rye, Tennessee whiskey and even Canadian. There is no other spirit that was captured the world’s attention like America’s native spirit.
In our Masters of Bourbon Appreciation class we will explore the difference in mash bills and the growing trend of double barrel aging and it’s end impact on the final spirt vs. good old-fashioned aged Bourbon.
There will be a brief refresher on the basics of bourbon production but the primary focus of our MBA class will be sensory evaluation of the spirits and an open discussion of each product.
Flight #1 – Four Bourbons will be selected that explore the difference in Mash Bills
Flight #2 – Four Bourbons will be selected that explore the emerging trend of multi barrel aging
Flight #3 – Four Bourbons will be selected that are on the older side of the age spectrum 8 – 15+ years
Classes will be held in the tasting room of Western Reserve Distillers which overlooks the production floor of Ohio’s only certified organic distillery.
